一、被動語態

當主語為動作的執行者時, 謂語的形式為主動語態;當主語為動作的承受者時, 謂語要用被動語態。

e.g. Manypeoplespeak English.

(主動語態, 句子的主語manypeople是動作speak的執行者)

(被動語態, 句子的主語English是動作speak的承受者)

二、被動語態的構成

被動語態由“助動詞be + 及物動詞的過去分詞”構成。與主動語態一樣,被動語態也有時態、人稱和數的變化, 其變化規則與be作為連系動詞時完全一樣。

8. take place發生;出現

①是不及物動詞,不能用于被動語態;常指事先安排或事發有因的事情。

②辨析:happen則常指偶然發生的事情

e.g. Ihappenedtosee Peter on my way to the museum.

9. It is saidthataChinese ruler called Shen Nong was the first to discover

tea asadrink. 據說有一位叫作神農的中國統治者最早發現了茶可以飲用。

It is said that…是個常見句式,表示“據說……”, that后面接完整的句子。

本單元還有一個類似的句式:

It is believedthat…,意思是“人們認為……”, 其后同樣接完整的句子。

否定式:had not+ 過去分詞

縮寫形式:hadn’t

(3) 它所表示動作發生的時間是“過去的過去”。

①表示過去某一時間可用by, before 等構成的短語來表示。

②也可以用when, before 等引導的時間狀語從句來表示。
